NYC Dashboard Shows 45,789 Released Individuals Awaiting Trial

In August of this year, New York City had 45,789 individuals awaiting disposition of their case — a vast majority of them accused of misdemeanor crimes, according to  the Pretrial Release Dashboard, a new service launched Monday by the New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) in partnership with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and leading national pretrial justice consultants Luminosity, Inc.

Honolulu car wreck: Sedan sideswipes several cars and sends sparks flying at midnight, video shows

Residents of Honolulu’s idyllic Waikiki neighborhood were woken up by a loud car crash and alarms shortly after midnight in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Video captured by KITN shows a white sedan sideswiping several cars and sending sparks flying before finally coming to a stop with police on its tail.

Eagle County COVID dashboard now shows case incidence by vaccination status, number of children infected

The 7-day case rate by vaccination status graph, showing the rate of infections per 100,000 in Eagle County, as of Tuesday. The data will be updated weekly.

Eagle County’s community COVID-19 monitoring dashboard now shows case incidence by vaccination status, as well as child case rates by age groups. The dashboard was updated to provide the info over the Labor Day weekend in Eagle County.

The dashboard also shows active hospitalizations — as of Sept. 6, there are three in Eagle County, down from nine on Aug. 31.

Stock car racing has a new engine — Unreal 4 — with NASCAR 21: Ignition, and it gets a close-up in this gameplay trailer Motorsport Games released during Gamescom 2021. Updated Horry County Schools dashboard shows 6,800 students in quarantine

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Horry County Schools updated its COVID-19 dashboard to show just how many students are currently in quarantine in the district.

The latest update at 4:47 p.m. on Monday shows there are 6,800 students in quarantine, out of the nearly 43,400 students that opted into face-to-face instruction in the district.

Video shows baby trapped under alleged drunk driver’s car being rescued by bystanders, police

Police and bystanders freed a baby stuck under a car in Yonkers, New York, on Friday after an allegedly intoxicated driver drove through a storefront and trapped the infant.

Video released by the Yonkers police shows the horrifying incident, where the driver rammed into a parked car, then hit a woman carrying her child and drove straight into a barber shop with the woman on the hood of the car.

State COVID-19 dashboard update shows no increase in cases or deaths | Coronavirus

The state Department of Health’s midday Sunday COVID-19 dashboard update showed no increase in cases or deaths.

It has been more than a month since state officials provided weekend updates beyond updating statistics on its dashboard. The dashboard also showed no change in hospitalizations.

New infections from the novel coronavirus have been trending up. In the previous five days, the state averaged 369 new cases per day, including 425 on July 15, the largest increase since June 15. The state averaged 201 new cases per day from June 13 through July 12.

Video shows Virginia deputy lifting car to save trapped woman

A decorated sheriff’s deputy in Virginia is being praised for acting quickly — again — to save a person trapped in a potentially life-threatening situation.

On May 7, Deputy J. Holt, with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of an overturned automobile with an entrapment.
