Off-duty N.J. officer fatally struck pedestrian, put body in car, prosecutor says

A New Jersey police officer is accused of fatally striking a pedestrian, taking the man’s body home to discuss what to do, and then returning to the scene with the dead man in his back seat, a prosecutor said Wednesday.

Newark officer Louis Santiago, 25, his passenger, and his mother are charged in the Nov. 1 incident, acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said in a written statement.

Santiago, who was off-duty, allegedly struck Damian Dymka, a 29-year-old nurse, while he was walking around 3 a.m. on the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway.

Ayika married Kano nightclub owner found dead in car with side chick

A nightclub owner in Kano, Steve Ayika has been found dead with his girlfriend in a tinted car.

Police reportedly found the married man and father of two kids, in a compromising position, with the side chick, identified as Chiamaka Emmanuel.

The two were discovered early on 23 November, according to the Kano Police Command, with the car locked and phones switched off.

Five dead, 40 wounded as car hits Wisconsin Christmas parade | News

A car has ploughed through a Christmas parade in the US state of Wisconsin, killing five and injuring at least 40 people, according to the City of Waukesha.

The incident occurred at around 4:39pm (22:39 GMT) on Sunday in Waukesha, about 32 kilometres (20 miles) west of Milwaukee.

Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly told reporters the city had “faced horror and tragedy in what should have been a community celebration”.

“I’m deeply saddened to know that so many in our community went to the parade but ended up dealing with injury and heartache,” Reilly said.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) — Bob Bondurant, a former champion race car driver who opened a high-performance driving school in 1968 and taught numerous A-list actors for their movie roles, has died. He was 88.

According to his family and the Bondurant Racing School website, Bondurant died Friday in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley. No cause of death was released.

Bondurant taught stunt driving, competition driving, police pursuit driving, evasive driving for chauffeurs and bodyguards, plus other skills, according to the website. His school has had over 500,000 graduates, it said.

Residents of Honolulu’s idyllic Waikiki neighborhood were woken up by a loud car crash and alarms shortly after midnight in the early hours of Sunday morning.
