2022 Chevy Corvette Will Add Three Hot New Colors

  • The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette will be offered in three new colors: Amplify Orange, Caffeine, and Hypersonic Gray.
  • The mid-engine C8 Corvette is powered by a 490-hp 6.2-liter V-8.
  • Orders for the 2022 model will open in early July.

    Chevrolet added two new exterior color choices—Red Mist and Silver Flare—to the mid-engine C8 Corvette for the 2021 model year and made it $1000 more expensive. Now the Corvette will get three new colors for 2022, its third model year with the engine mounted behind the cockpit.

    Solid-state batteries later this decade, all EVs by 2040

    Honda is planning to completely phase out internal combustion engines from its North American lineup by 2040, the company announced Thursday night. 

    That means a combination of battery-electric and fuel-cell models will add up to 100% of its sales by that time. The company spelled out that as interim targets, it sees those two groups making up 40% of its sales by 2030 and 80% by 2035.

    19-year-old found dead inside car in DeSoto

    Police in southern Dallas County are looking for the person who shot and killed a 19-year-old man.

    The victim was found inside a car in a neighborhood in DeSoto.

    Witnesses said a passenger who was inside the car, a Honda Accord, got out and ran away moments after the shooting.

    Police need help finding him.

    He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and jeans and had short dreadlocks.

    The victim’s name has not yet been released.

    Man dies after vehicle falls off lift at auto repair shop in Spring

    SPRING, Texas – Harris County deputies are responding to a man who was fatally crushed by a vehicle in Spring, officials said.

    Deputies said the call dropped after 3 p.m. at Uptown Motorwerks at 3802 Louetta.

    Harris County Sheriff’s Office said an employee at the auto maintenance shop was working when a vehicle fell off the lift and landed on the man.

    Emergency response crews reported that the man was dead at the scene.

    Ford, Volvo EVs Get Top Safety Pick; IIHS Says EVs Not Less Safe

    • The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Ford Mustang Mach-E a Top Safety Pick and the Volvo XC40 Recharge a Top Safety Pick+ after testing.
    • Vehicles must pass all crash tests to be named a Top Safety Pick and, additionally, meet stringent headlight standards on every trim to earn a Top Safety Pick+ designation.
