Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes that the team now have the best car, engine and driver, after a run of five consecutive wins.
Nine rounds into the 2021 season Red Bull have a healthy lead at the top of the constructors’ championship, while Max Verstappen is 32-points clear of Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ standings.
Verstappen has won the last three races, including two dominant wins at the Red Bull Ring double-header where he secured victory from pole comfortably on each occasion.
Asked by Motorsport-Magazin.com whether Red Bull have the best car and engine, Marko responded: “And the better driver, three components.”
“Our run is not bad,” he added. “It’s good to get 77 points in three races. But when you’re up front then life is so much easier and this win was much easier than last Sunday.”
While Red Bull appear comfortable at this stage in the season, there are still 13 races to come, with the introduction of sprint qualifying at the British Grand Prix a new factor to consider.
However, Marko insisted that the team have nothing to be scared of moving forward.
“We are not afraid of anything,” he said.
“We face this and want to get the most out of everything. In the past, Silverstone was absolute Mercedes land. Last year we were only able to win a race because of the tire problem. But we’re going into the weekend with a lot of self-confidence. We have seen that our car has been capable of winning on every track so far. But if we can still win that, then we will be more positive about the world title.”
