Forza developers PlayGround Games have today shared some exciting news regarding the engine sounds in the upcoming Forza Horizon 5. The team confirmed they have over 320 new car engine sound sources.

In the latest Forza Horizon 5 Let’s Go! episode, PlayGround Games have talked about the car engine sounds and improvements they’ve made to the overall audio. The team recorded over 320 new car engine sources, which they used to make an authentic sound for vehicles in the game.

The devs were excited to confirm that each car in Forza Horizon 5 will sound unique and different, which is something that many Forza Horizon series fans have been waiting to hear. Forza Horizon 4 was and still is a fantastic game but the engine sounds were certainly one of the features that could be improved in the next interaction and it looks like the devs have managed to do that.

Below, you can check out the episode of Let’s Go! where Playground showcased several cars including Dodge Viper, Toyota Supra, Lamborghini Aventador, Golf VII and much much more.

Additionally, the sounds of turbos, superchargers and transmissions have also been improved significantly thanks to Playgrounds’s expanded library of sounds. Also, as you upgrade the car, you will be able to hear the sound changes, which is quite a neat upgrade.

Those who have Dolby Atmos will be happy to hear that the game will utilise the tech so expect to hear some realistic sound bouncing and echoes.

It’s safe to say that Forza Horizon 5 looks and sounds spectacular and we cannot wait until November 2021, when the game is launching on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
